Our Story
We are delighted to welcome you to Vairao, on Tahiti's peninsula at PK12,900 on the mountain side. Our family guesthouse has been created with love, respecting Tahitian tradition and the environment.
Fare Atihau was born from a dream: to offer our visitors an authentic Tahitian experience, far from the tourist hustle and bustle. Located in the peaceful Vairao peninsula, our family guesthouse invites you to discover the real Tahiti, that of preserved traditions and respected nature.
Every detail of our establishment reflects our commitment to authenticity and sustainability. From the construction of our bungalows to the creation of our handcrafted welcome products, everything has been designed to offer you a memorable stay while respecting our fenua.
Our Authentic Bungalows
Our bungalows are all identical in terms of layout and can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. Breakfast is included and will be served at the Fare Pote'e.
Each bungalow has its identity
- Moana in blue - The spirit of the ocean
- Rima'i in yellow and red - The colors of the sun
- Ha'ari in green - The harmony of nature
- Himene in white and red - The purity of songs
- Tiare in purple and pink - The delicacy of the flower
Natural comfort
The bungalows are not air-conditioned but have an air stirrer. Located near the mountain, we have installed rock wool insulation to preserve the night's coolness during the day. This choice is part of our environmental approach.
Our Environmental Commitment
We are deeply concerned about the environment, hence our choice not to install air conditioning. Ecological termite traps have been placed all around the bungalows for natural protection.
Artisanal products
Our welcome products are carefully crafted. The all-coconut rectangular soap is scented with 100% natural Tiare, without artificial fragrance.
Our shampoo based on coconut oil, fresh banana and Moeruru (zingiber zerumbet) will accompany the cleansing of your hair after a sea outing or pool time.
Nourishing garden
Some indigenous plants have been planted here and there to preserve certain local varieties.
A fa'a'apu allows us to offer garden-to-plate dishes with a short circuit.
Chickens, rabbits and a composter help us avoid waste and maintain a natural cycle.
